Author Biographies

• Maristella Casciato, Getty Research Institute

  Is senior curator of architectural collections at the Getty Research Institute. Casciato was a tenured associate professor of history of architecture at the University of Bologna, School of Architecture from 2002-2012. She chaired Docomomo International in the period 2002-2009, when the secretariat was hosted in Paris.

• Émilie d'Orgeix, École Pratique des Hautes Études

  Is an architectural historian with an emphasis on the history of construction and techniques. She is Full professor and, since 2021, Vice-President for Research (VPR) at the École Pratique des Hautes Études-PSL University where she holds a transperiodic chair in Cultural History of Technology (15th-20th centuries). She was Secretary General of Docomomo International in the period 2002-2009 when the international secretariat was hosted in Paris.
